Alaska lawmakers listen to hours of public testimony on the State’s criminal justice reform bill

Alaska’s probation-violation rate has risen since SCF was introduced, although sanctions jail time has decreased. Alaska SB 54, if passed, would make changes to the current law. Critics say it would be costly and increase the prison population.
